INPEX had a major presence at the APPEA 2009 Conference and Exhibition in Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia from May 31 to 3 June 2009.

Managing Director Seiya Ito presents at the final plenary session

More than 1500 industry delegates attended the event at the new Convention Centre on Darwin’s foreshore – across the harbour from the location of the planned world-class Ichthys Project's onshore LNG Plant. APPEA – Australian Petroleum Production and Exploration Association – is the peak industry body in Australia and INPEX is an active member.

The INPEX stand, staffed by INPEX representatives from the Tokyo, Perth and Darwin offices, proved popular with delegates. INPEX sponsored a student workshop to outline career opportunities in the petroleum industry to students from a Darwin highschool. Four INPEX staff made presentations to the school group.

Managing Director in Australia Seiya Ito also gave a presentation to delegates in the final plenary session, which was greeted with loud applause by the audience.
