Our company has been part of the Australian energy landscape since 1986.

In that time, we’ve made important contributions including engaging with other energy producers, government agencies and community leaders. We’re backing the national commitment to high standards of safety, environmental management and community support.

The Australian Energy Producers (AEP), formally Australian Petroleum Production and Exploration Association (APPEA), is the peak national body for Australia’s energy sector. AEP works with Australian governments to promote the development of the nation’s energy resources in ways which generates the best return to the Australian industry and community. AEP works to secure regulatory and commercial conditions that help member companies to operate safely, sustainably and profitably.

Brighter

INPEX, along with other natural gas producers, supports Brighter, an initiative established by AEP. Brighter is a new way of talking to Australians about the role natural gas plays in their everyday lives, from its role in powering our homes and businesses, to the jobs it creates and communities it supports.

Brighter is keeping the community informed on the continuing role of natural gas as a partner to renewable energy.

INPEX is committed to recognising and respecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples whose cultures have existed in Australia for more than 65,000 years.

In particular, we acknowledge the Larrakia people as the recognised Traditional Owners of the land and waters where Ichthys LNG onshore facilities are located, in addition to the Whadjuk Nyoongar people on whose lands our Perth office is situated. Furthermore, Broome and Djarindjin are important logistical locations for transit of our offshore workforce, and we therefore extend our acknowledgement to the Yawuru, Bardi and Jawi peoples, respectively.

INPEX acknowledges the important role Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples continue to play in the development of our business in Australia and pay our respects to their Elders – past and present.
